About Me

Hello and welcome to my website.

A little bit about me. I would say I was always an artist; since I was a little girl I was obsessed with drawing, painting and anything creative. My art took a back seat for many years as I worked as a Primary School Teacher. Although art was part of my teaching degree and I always contributed to the art aspect of the schools I worked in, it wasn't the same as doing art for myself.  However, at last I have time to give to my passion of art.

Over the last couple of years I have been exploring different media and styles, and I seem to have settled  mainly on watercolours  but am also exploring coloured and graphite pencils, black pen, digital art and mixed media.

A couple of years back I became interested in photography and macro photography. I try where I can to take my own photos to work from.

I specialize largely in painting UK wildlife and botanicals.

But I also like painting other things on occasionals, such as soft toys,  still life objects and non UK wildlife.

We lived in the Highlands of Scotland for a few years and had a wide variety of wildlife living and visiting my garden which certainly still influences my work. This  included red squirrels, bats, woodpeckers, a wide variety of garden and woodland birds and insects, stoats, mice, red kites and the occasional wild goat! I also frequently saw red deer and highland cows.

I now live with my husband and dog in a lovely part of Pembrokeshire, Wales and have begun to gain inspiration from the wide variety of wild flowers, plants and native trees in this area. Often photographed during one of our dog walks. There is also a stunning coastline with beautiful beaches that may yet appear in my work.
